Westover hosted their 32nd Annual Cross Country Invitational on Saturday at Robert Cross Middle Scbool.
The meet drew 37 schools from all over the state. Athletic director and cross country coach Harley Calhoun said about 15 schools came from metro areas.
Varsity, junior varsity, and middle school teams raced from the early morning to the early afternoon. High school teams ran a 5K, while middle school kids participated in a two mile race.
Westover performed well at the varsity level, finishing 9th in boys and 12th in girls. But today's invitational wasn't just about winning and losing for the Patriots.
"We try to keep up the tradition but we just take pride in this event," Calhoun said. "It helps to showcase not just Westover, but southwest Georgia as a whole and what we have to offer down here."
