Lee County baseball coach Rob Williams used the number one trademarked answer of the coaching manual, in regards to his playoff starting pitching for Friday.
"We're going to dance with the ones that brung us," Williams said.
To clarify, Trojan pitchers Cole Goodwin and Chase Burnfin have been Williams' number one and two arms all year, and he wasn't going to change it now.
Goodwin held up his part of the deal earning a 2-0 game one victory over Jones County. The win gave Lee County a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series.
In game two, Chase Burnfin was the next pitcher up for Coach Williams. Burnfin was strong early, and avoided a bases loaded jam in the fourth without giving up a run.
However, it started to implode on the Trojans in the next inning. Lee County gave up four runs in the game, but it was enough for Jones County to win the game 4-3 and force a decisive game three Saturday at 4.
