The Albany Panthers are aiming at some kind of record. No matter what, three straight indoor football championships has to be good for some sort of all-time note.
The record chasing doesn't end with the team honors for the Panthers. An individual Panther is playing for keeps on a career milestone.
Albany Panthers defensive back Damian Daniels is three interceptions shy of the all-time indoor football record. The second year Panther has tallied 96 interceptions during an illustrious professional career.
The record of 99 interceptions is possible by extending the Panthers season two more weeks to another PIFL championship.
"Honestly, I play the game for championships. Records are meant to be broken. I feel like championships last forever. That's my main goal, win championships," Daniels said.
If the season were to end without the record, Daniels will return next season to take another run at the interception crown.
