It all comes down to this. After all the spring workouts, summer practices, and Friday night fall games, two teams have one game left on the schedules to determine their fate.
Americus-Sumter will travel to Crisp County on Friday night for a birth in the 4-AAAA playoffs. Neither team made the playoffs last year.
Both teams have had up-and-down seasons so far but have ended up at 3-3 in region play. The Cougars defeated Americus-Sumter last season.
But in 2013, an appearance in the postseason would make either team's season.
"It would be monumental for us to be in the playoffs this year," said Americus-Sumter head coach Reggie Mitchell.
The game on Friday night will be pressure-packed, but also exciting. The coaches are urging their players to embrace the opportunity.
"It's why you do all the things you do in the winter," said Lee Campbell, Crisp County's head coach. "For it to come down to the last game â" you win you're in, you lose you go home. That's when it means something."
