Albany Panthers head coach Lucious Davis has committed to a fifth season with the local indoor football franchise.
Davis will return for the 2014 PIFL season telling Fox 31 Sports "as long as the organization wants me back...I'll be here."
Davis holds a 39-13 overall record as the Panthers head coach including four straight playoff appearances and back-to-back indoor football championships in '11 and '12 .
The current business for Coach Davis and the Panthers is winning that third indoor football title. The goal took a minor hit last Saturday. Albany lost to Lehigh Valley and fell to the four seed for the upcoming playoffs.
Albany will play a road playoff game for only the second time in franchise history.
This week, there are no playoff implications on the line against Columbus. The Panthers want the boost of a victory, heading into the PIFL Semifinals.
In the meeting two weeks ago against Columbus, Albany pitched a second half shutout for a 35-15 win. Panthers players say they need to play with that edge again before the playoff push.
