NFL Linebacker Tackles School Supplies
Before heading back for Minnesota Vikings training camp, linebacker Larry Dean tackled school supplies for his hometown.
At Dean's First Annual Back to School Rally, Dean donated supplies to kids of all ages Sunday at Tifton's Mott-Litman Gym. Dean, along with his Viking teammate Joe Webb, spent the afternoon signing autographs and raffling prizes away to the Tift County youth.
During a NFL offseason that has seen its fair share of negative publicity, Dean and his teammates used their talents to benefit the community.
The 2012 NFL arrest tally has climbed to 31 players on 20 NFL teams. Avoiding trouble for Webb is simple. It's about putting the right priorities in the right place.
"Just try to keep yourself away from bad situations. Hang out with good friends and hang around positive people that are going to keep your spirit up and try to keep you out of trouble," quarterback/receiver Webb said.
Minnesota Vikings open training camp this Thursday. As a special teams player, Dean accounted for eight tackles during his rookie campaign.
