Moss Farms sends nine divers to national championships
The Moss Farms Diving Club in Moultrie has produced national champion caliber divers for 50 years. This year is no different.
Coach Ed Goodman's club is sending nine divers to Knoxville, Tennessee to compete in the Junior Olympic National Championships and Age Group Nationals. They qualified after their performances at zones in Coral Springs, Florida earlier in the summer.
"We are an elite program. We are known for sending national champions out of here," said assistant coach Camille Akridge. "This is our biggest group that's been in a long time."
Moss Farms is sending athletes as young as eight and as old as fifteen to Knoxville. But for each diver, the approach is the same.
"You have to push yourself harder because there's harder competition," said diver Parker Hardigree. "And you have to make sure that you nail every one of your dives."
