Two former Mitchell County Eagles are going to Point University on a football scholarship.
Running back Anfreenee Williams and safety Anthony Murray, Jr. both signed with the Skyhawks on Thursday morning.
Point is in the NAIA and is a member of the Appalachian Athletic Conference. Both players were impressed with head coach David Rocker and his staff during the recruitment period.
"I like the university," said Williams. "It's a great chance for me to go as a freshman and play as a freshman, and put up good stats."
Both former Eagles expect to play right away at Point.
"By game one, I'm starting," said Murray on his hopes of making a quick impact. "Whether it be special teams or defense, I just want to make a contribution to the team."
