Marathon returns to Albany on Saturday

It's marathon week in Albany.

The Albany Convention & Visitors Bureau is expecting over 1,400 runners to participate in Saturday's 8th annual marathon. That total surpasses last year's number.

The race also serves as a qualifier for the Boston Marathon.

Organizer Rashelle Beasley says over 1,700 volunteers are expected to help out along the route, which spans the city.

"It's a great community-wide event," Beasley said.

The marathon is set to start at 7 A.M.
