Local ballplayer to don the stars and stripes

Baylin Moore is just coming into his own as a baseball player. Still, he's good enough to get noticed by USA Baseball.

Moore will travel to North Carolina next week to take part in the 14U National Team Development Program. He'll play for a week in front of coaches and hopefully begin to earn a spot on next year's 15U team.

He was one of only forty kids selected nationwide.

"I'm just glad that I got the opportunity, it's really just a blessing for me and my family," said Moore. "I'm happy I made it and I'm just going to make the most of it."

Moore, who throws and bats left-handed, is a centerfielder and a pitcher.

He'll start ninth grade at Deerfield-Windsor when he returns.
