Lee County to play in 6-A after GHSA denial

Lee County High School's request to stay in 5-A was denied by the GHSA on Tuesday, so the Trojans will be placed in 6-A beginning next school year.

The school will be placed in Region 1, where Lowndes, Valdosta, Colquitt County, and others are classified.

Lee County High and athletic director Rob Williams presented their case to the reclassification committee in December. The Trojans' main concern with a reclassification has been possible scheduling changes that interfere with academics and alter travel schedules and costs.
