Wrestling, to most in Southwest Georgia, gets over looked because of basketball, but for the ones who do not, it's official: high school wrestling is back.

Wrestling is one of the most toughest sports physically and mentally and the greatest part is one man against another. Period.

Lee County High School took full advantage of getting an early start by taking it to the mat. This year for the Trojans they find themselves in a tough spot, considering they will only have four seniors on the team. Which means over half of the varsity team will be made up of freshmen and sophmores.

One thing Lee County has going for them is their off season work and more specifically the summer program. While most of the team is made up of football players and can't necessarily make it to practice, there are the few who dedicate themselves to the mat.

With practice finally back and some of the team missing, head coach Tom Matheny is focusing on who has what it takes to make the team.
