Lee County Represents at World Series

Earlier this summer, a group of Lee County All-Stars set a goal to win the Dixie Baseball World Series.
The DYB Georgia State Title is in the bag, and only one more tournament stands in the team's way. Lee County National heads to Bartow, Florida for the Dixie Youth Baseball Majors World Series on August 4.
"When you have a group of kids like thisâ|that just come together as friends and are all great ballplayers, it's just going to work out. It's just going to go your way," Lee National Catcher Garrett Suiter said.
This group trounced through the district and state tournaments finishing last week's state tournament a perfect 7-0. Even though Lee National has gone undefeated, they don't talk about the streak and they certainly don't use the word- undefeated.
"I don't use the "U" word because of superstitious reasons, but I can't tell you how proud I am (of this team)...they did it through district too," Lee National Coach Tripp Knight said.
Luck for Lee County at the Dixie World Series has come in groups of seven.
A Lee County team won the Dixie Youth Baseball World Series in 2005 and 1998. If the power of seven's continues, 2012 would be a third championship for the group of 12-year-olds.
