Revenge is sweet in high school basketball. After a blowout loss to Seminole County last week, Lee County got their revenge on Tuesday night in a rematch at home with the Indians. Aaron May led the charge for the Trojans with 21 points and Lee County held on, 72-70. They'll play in the Christmas Classic this weekend.
On the girls' side, the Lady Trojans bounced back from Saturday's loss to Westover. They held on to a late lead and beat Seminole County, 46-37.
An upset was nearly brewing at Monroe when Americus-Sumter gave the defending region champs all they could handle. After an eventful fourth quarter, the Lady Tornadoes held on, 62-59. The boys' game was a defensive battle that eventually ended up with Monroe on top, 44-38.
