Lady Eagles to take another shot at Randolph-Clay in Macon

Mitchell County's girls' basketball team is one win away from making history. But a familiar foe stands in their way.

Randolph-Clay, a region opponent, has topped the Lady Eagles in all three meetings this season. Each game has been close.

The Lady Eagles and Lady Red Devils meet for the 1-A state championship on Thursday at 3 P.M. in Macon.

Head coach Rosemary Sanders is confident that her girls are ready for the challenge.

"They're hungry. They've got to beat them, they want to beat them," Sanders said. "Each time we've lost to Randolph-Clay we've beaten ourselves."

Mitchell County is 25-6 on the season.
