Sometimes the holiday break comes at a good time. Other times, teams can do without it.
Darton State's basketball team was starting to get hot before the break, with three consecutive blowout victories. Now, after ten days off from practice and two weeks between guys, it's about continuing the progress.
Head coach Lea Henry has been happy with her team's improvement in several areas, including transition offense and consistency on the defensive end. She also feels like the team chemistry is much better after getting adjusted to so many new faces on the roster.
Still, the goal is to peak in February, not December.
"Right now, we feel like we're becoming the team that we want to be and that we'll be playing our best basketball at the right time," Henry said.
