The defending GISA 3A state football champion Deerfield-Windsor Knights started up spring practice on Monday. While it doesn't count officially right now, football fans take solace in knowing that exactly three months from May 2ndâ|it will.
When Deefield does kick off this fall, the Knights will be working toward a third state title in the last four years.
Of course, that sort of success draws the attention of GISA football teams all over Georgia, and Deerfield coach Allen Lowe knows his Knights title defense begins right now with spring practices.
"It better mean that we get out here and work to get better because somebody's out there to knock you off. If we're not getting better today, somebody else is," Lowe said.
