Two Tift County wrestlers are continuing their craft into college for at least another two years.
Best friends since kindergarten, Beau Bergeron and Malcom Robinson, couldn't imagine going to school without each otherâ"so they decided to stick together.
The duo signed with Kansas' Pratt Community College on Thursday. Wrestling is all about adapting to adversity and changing situations. Both Blue Devil athletes agree moving across the country will be a change, but there's strength in numbers.
"That was just the whole purpose of it. Just to be around somebody that you've known forever in a new place where nobody knows you. It's something we can't wait to do," Robinson said.
"It means a lot to me. I don't know how to say it, but we strive off each other. We always have to out-do each other, so it'll be good for us," Bergeron said.
Bergeron will wrestle at the college heavyweight level. He finished third at GHSA state in the 220 lb. class. Robinson won the AAAAAA-region 1 championship this season at the 113 lb. classification.
