Friday night basketball recap

The Worth County boys continue to be the cream of the crop in 4A-1 basketball.

The Rams held off a tough opponent in the Dougherty Trojans on Friday night in route to a 69-60 win. Dougherty got revenge in the girls' game, however, with a 52-17 victory.

Another 4A-1 team was in action on Friday night, but against a non-region opponent. The Monroe Tornadoes swept Terrell County at home. The boys won, 62-42, and the girls' team stayed scorching hot with a 50-35 win over the Lady Greenwave.

In 6-A, the Tift County boys continued their region domination with an 81-54 win over Lowndes. Ali Vaughn led the Blue Devils with 16 points. The Lady Blue Devils fell to the Lady Vikings, 64-51.

In the GISA, Deerfield-Windsor traveled to Chula to take on Tiftarea Academy. The Deerfield boys won, 60-34. Tiftarea's girls won, 46-42.
