Bart Sasnett has had his fair share of talented players come through the Darton soccer program. Darwin Espinal may be the best one yet.
The Cavaliers have scored ten times in their first two matches against Monroe and Georgia Perimeter. Six of those have come off the foot of Espinal, who's scored three in each game.
The forward came to Darton from Taravella High School in South Florida. He likes the coaches and fits in well with the possession-oriented style of soccer implemented by Sasnett, who's impressed by the early returns of his highly touted newcomer.
"He's a stone cold finisher. I mean, he puts the ball in the back of the net," Sasnett raved. "He's big, he's fast, he's physical. He's got very quick feet. He's got the total package for a forward at our level."
Despite his early success, Espinal isn't done.
"I challenge myself," Espinal said. "I have high expectations of myself and of the program. I don't settle for less."
