Things have not been the same in Brooks County after losing three high school football players on Tuesday morning.
Trojans seniors Jicarre Watkins, Shawn Waters, and junior, Johnnie Parker were killed in a car accident
It's been a hard and emotional week, on Saturday, the community came together to show their support for the families affected by the event.
From 10am-2pm, at the Harvey's in Quitman, GA, the Trojan football team held a charity cook-out event for the affected families, but Brooks County wasn't the only team out in support.
Brooks County High School Head Coach, Maurice Freeman, met with several South Georgia teams on Saturday morning. Thomas County Central, along with Thomasville, Valdosta, and Cook County all came together to show their support.
With the help of community donations and the purchases of merchandise, like mini-football helmets, bracelets, and hats, Freeman viewed the event as a great step forward.
