Ex-Cavalier lands coaching job

Darton State College welcoming their new coach Gary Hilton.

The wait is over for Darton State College for an assistant coach to help out with the golf program. Head Coach Dale Dover has announced that Gary Hilton of Georgia Southwestern with step in and be the new assistant.

Coach Hilton is no stranger to Darton golf. Back in 2000 and 2001 he played for the program and at that time Coach Dover was only an assistant coach volunteering his time for the college.

Coach Dover and the college have long term plans for the new coach and it could lead to a head coaching position.

Dover, "if he does well and handles the responsibility with hopes of moving up to the head coaching position."

It didn't take long for Coach Hilton to get started, and he will be preparing the Cavaliers for their first tournament in Coleman, AL, on September 9th and 10th.
