A Dougherty High School athlete went back and forth weighing her college questions and her college options. The all-around program booster had a lot of choices and not just which school, also which sport.
Quannesha Gatling, a four sport star with the Trojans, decided on track and she decided to sign with the hometown school Wednesday, Albany State.
"I do most definitely feel comfortable at Albany State. It's not because I'm not ready to leave Albany, it's because I feel comfortable there. I like the students, the (homecoming) parade and the games. I really like it, I love it," Gatling said.
Gatling participated in basketball, softball, track and cross country at Dougherty.
The senior finished fourth in the 400m dash at the GHSA State Meet this season. Though, she prefers the triple and long jump in the field events winning the region in both field events.
Gatling's decision came down to basketball and track. She fielded several basketball offers from two-year schools. Gatling is considering her Albany State basketball options though maintained her passion is on the track and in the field.
