Darton Soccer's Dream Season Ends in Semis

The number one ranked, undefeated Darton State soccer team has been mostly unstoppable this season. Breezing through the NJCAA National Tournament's pool play round, the Cavaliers needed to win two more games to realize their goal of a national title.

In the NJCAA semifinals on Friday night, the Cavaliers dream season was stopped by Tyler (Texas) Junior College. Tyler jumped ahead 3-0 on the Cavaliers midway through the second half, and Darton State couldn't fight their way back losing 4-1.

Darton State finishes the season with a 19-1 record. The one in the loss column is the most devastating as Darton State earns an NJCAA third place finish.

"It was a long tough season, but we gave it our all, our best and I guess it just wasn't meant to be in the end. It gives us a lot of motivation, it shows that our younger guys have a lot of heart and they'll fight for everything," Cavaliers defenseman Soren Yuhaschek said.

Cavaliers All-American Troy Tucker scored the lone goal for Darton State.
