Darton State diver Crawford Berry won the Rowlands Award for the top NJCAA Male-Student Athlete of the Year on Wednesday.
Berry is the first athlete to win the award as a swimmer or diver. He won the one-meter and three-meter diving national championships as a freshman and a sophomore.
He was just on a different level, skill-wise, than the rest of the NJCAA, said Darton State swimming & diving coach Major Robinson. He was far and above the rest of the field.
Berry will be diving for the Georgia Bulldogs next season.
