It's spring break for most in high school, but for region 1-AAAA this is no time to take a break, especially if you want to catch Crisp County for the region title in baseball this season. Paul Eames Park hosted a bundle of games to kick off day one of spring break.

Starting with the early afternoon games, Cairo made the trip down to take on the Westover Patriots and although it was a close game to start, the Patriots gave up six runs in one inning for the loss 8-2. Taking a walk down the park where the Dougherty County Trojans battled it out against Albany High School, this game was a high scoring shootout. In the end, the Trojans came from behind late in the 6th inning to outlast Albany 18-17.

Finally, for the late evening game was between the defending region champs Crisp County against Monroe High School. Monroe didn't give up in this one from start to finish, but in the end it was the Cougars who came away with the win over the Golden Tornadoes.
