Crisp County's Oliver off to be a Bulldog
Andy Landers has built a women's basketball powerhouse in Athens. Over the weekend, he traveled to Southwest Georgia to add a recruit that could help continue the strong tradition.
Nasheema Oliver, a post player for Crisp County High School, committed to the Georgia Bulldogs and Coach Landers on Sunday. Landers visited Oliver's family home and she committed on the spot, before taking her official visit.
Oliver chose Georgia over Florida, Louisville, Notre Dame, and Miami. She is arguably the state's best recruit and regarded as one of the top post prospects in the nation. She'll switch from center to power forward at the next level.
Oliver was charmed by Landers and Georgia throughout the recruitment process.
"He came to my house, sat in my living room, ate my dad's ribs," Oliver said, when describing how Landers got her to commit so early. "That's where I always wanted to go as a young girl. I'm ready to be a Lady Bulldog."
Oliver is expected to sign her letter of intent in November.
