Crisp County moves on, others wait
A number of softball teams from south Georgia began their hunt for a state title on Wednesday.
The Crisp County Cougars hosted Liberty County and swept both games to move on to the next round. They'll play at home again next week.
Worth County also played in front of their home fans in the first round. They split their contests with Cross Creek and will play at 4:30 on Thursday with a chance to advance.
The Lee County Trojans traveled to Richmond Hill for their first round matchup. They won their first game, but lost the second. They also face a must-win scenario tomorrow.
Monroe played at Effingham County and lost both games, ending the season for the Tornadoes.
