The state softball tournaments are down to sixteen teams this week. A number of South Georgia schools are still part of the field.
In 4-A, Crisp County is one of those teams. The Cougars are at home on Wednesday for two matchups against Perry. It's a best-of-three scenario, so a deciding game could be held on Thursday in Cordele.
The 5-A Lee County Trojans have to go on the road on Wednesday for two games against higher-seeded Houston County. They pulled off the upset against Richmond Hill last week, and Dwayne Suggs thinks his team is playing well enough to advance again.
"Our girls have a lot of confidence. They're very loose," Suggs said.
Tift County and Cook County are among other area teams still playing playoff softball.
