The GHSA baseball brackets are closing in on who will play for a state championship this weekend, but the GISA is still fighting for that state championship spot. This weekend the Crisp Academy Wildcats will take on David Emanuel Academy for the semifinal round in the Class A State playoffs. To most teams reaching the final four can be nerve wrecking but for the Wildcats it's their fifth straight year reaching the semis.

During the postseason, Crisp Academy has had great success at the plate, particularly after last week's game two 21-4 blowout. The batting isn't going to be the biggest issue for the Wildcats, but instead the heat.

It will be the hottest it's been all year long and they will be playing a doubleheader in the dead of the heat starting at 1 PM. Naturally, Crisp Academy has been preparing for the big game by practicing mid-afternoon.

Game one starts at 1 p.m. at Crisp Academy on Saturday. Game two will get underway after a 30 minute break in-between games. If forced game three will be on Monday.
