Cougars hope to bring a baseball championship back to Cordele
Crisp County baseball is two wins away from the school's first state championship since 1961.
The Cougars will travel to Carrollton for a doubleheader on Saturday. If needed, the deciding game will be Saturday. They beat South Effingham, West Laurens, Walnut Grove, and Alexander to earn a spot in the title series.
"It's been a long time since this has happened for Crisp County, so we're real excited about it," said head coach Bill Pate.
For the seniors, a second-place finish in 4-A isn't good enough. The Cougars are ready, excited, and a little nervous.
"This is what you dream of when you're a little kid," said shortstop Taylor Walls.
