The Albany State baseball program is getting involved in the homecoming festivities this week.
They will host a clinic at 10:30 on Friday morning for kids 8 to 18. In the afternoon, current and former players will face off in a home run derby. After that, they'll play each other in an alumni game.
Newly promoted head coach Kenyan Conner said the weekend is about connecting with the community, but also showing to alums that the ASU baseball program is in good hands.
"They want to buy in. They want to come back and see that the program is flourishing," Conner said. "We put this event on really for the alumni, so they can come back and see that we still have the ball rolling here and that the future is still bright at Albany State."
