For the Golden Rams football team they are heading in the right direction for another great season. Coming off of a successful season in 2013 by winning the S.I.A.C Conference championship, head coach Mike White is not looking to take a step backwards heading into the 2014 season. Over the weekend the Albany State football program hosted tryouts for the new season to come.

All afternoon on Saturday coaches and even current players hit the grid iron, to take a look at some local talent looking to put the pads back on. Seniors and Junior College transfers were the mass majority of athletes out on the field, wanting to impress the coaches looking from above.

The day was full of different drills like the shuttle run and the forty yard dash. The ultimate goal for each young player was a spot on the starting roster for next season. On national signing day Albany State did sign ten student-athletes, and will open the 2014 season on the road to Valdosta State University.
