Albany State's first week of practice is in the books.
After officially starting on Monday, the Golden Rams wore full pads on Friday for the first time this season. However, due to slippery conditions, the coaching staff agreed to hold off on a full contact workout until next week.
There was still plenty of work to be done in the first five days.
On the defensive side, the focus is on getting into shape and eliminating mental mistakes. On offense, the process of getting acclimated with a new offensive coordinator and, eventually, a new quarterback, is underway.
Coach White likes how the newcomers have grasped the playbook, but has expressed concern over his team's conditioning.
A date with North Greenville on September 7th is only three weeks away. White knows his team must continue to grow.
"It's just getting accustomed to the Albany State way. What we do, how we want you to do it," White said. "I think some of the guys are getting it. Some of the guys have not gotten it yet."
