The Albany State Golden Rams are loaded with a buffet of running backs and wide receivers. As for a quarterback to feed them the ball, that's still undecided.
Five Golden Rams are vying to replace Stanley Jennings at the quarterback position for 2012. Transfers Keenan Grissett and Rodney Castlin appear to be leading the race, so far.
Grissett has the playbook and time advantage spending the past spring with the Golden Rams, but he's careful to say it's his job to lose.
"At the end of the day, we're all here for the same goal which is a championship, but right now no man has been named as the starter. So we're all trying to get out number called. We're going to continue to peak, push each other...still be teammates, but at the same time use our personal skills to the best of our ability," Grissett said.
In the first week of camp, the heat is getting to some of the Golden Rams.
First team wide receiver Ronnie Tubbs missed practice on Wednesday due to heat illness. While receiver/return specialist Orion Ponder dealt with cramps and dehydration.
