The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference is a very tough conference and now that baseball season is underway, teams look to get more experience prior conference play. On a beautiful Monday afternoon, Albany State University's baseball team took on Edward Waters College for a doubleheader. The first game started at 1 p.m. and the second followed at 3:30. After the Golden Rams had an early lead in game one, the Golden Rams' defense fell apart in the sixth inning, giving EWC the lead and the win with a final score of 8-7.
As for game two, the Golden Rams came out swinging the bat hot, but so did Tigers. Entering the second inning, it was all tied up 2-2 and that was just the beginning. The Golden Rams ended up scoring 16 runs during the course of the game to give them the 16-10 victory over EWC. The action will continue Tuesday against Georgia Southwestern at 6 p.m.
