The Albany Recreation and Parks Department held a press conference Wednesday to announce future plans involving the Special Olympics.
Albany Rec. and Parks will host the upcoming Special Olympics "Striker's Classic Master's Bowling Invitational". The tournament has been designed for athletes to compete in the sport before the Special Olympics "Georgia Master's Bowling" event to be held in August in Warner Robins. The Invitational will be held on Friday, July 30 at the AMF Bowl-A-Rama on Broad Avenue.
There are 192 spots available and the event is open to all Special Olympics Georgia registered athletes who are 22 and older by the date of the competition. To sponsor or volunteer for this event call Albany Recreation and Parks Director Suzanne Davis at 229.430.5222.
