Albany Panthers Home Winning Streak Snapped

Time just ran out.

The Albany Panthers had their chance to clinch a home playoff game and the PIFL's number two seed with a win against Lehigh Valley Saturday. Steelhawks quarterback Adam Bednarik bought time, and stole a celebration from Albany.

The Panthers held a three point lead against the Steelhawks with 17 seconds remaining before Bednarik connected on a fourth down score for a 53-49 victory at the Albany Civic Center.

The four point loss is the first Panthers loss at the Albany Civic Center in two calendar years. Albany has clinched a playoff seed, but the two seed is no longer possible due to the PIFL's tiebreak rules.

Pending next week's outcome against Columbus, Albany will travel for the first round of the PIFL playoffs.

Albany entered Saturday's game with a two game winning streak. They will close the regular season against Columbus next Saturday at 7:30 PM.
