Land promoted to ASU head football coach
Dan Land is now the full-time head football coach at Albany State University. Land led the Golden Rams to a 6-4 record and the SIAC East Division championship as interim head coach in 2015.
"He is familiar with our program and has been a part of our many successes," ASU athletic director Dr. Richard Williams said. "We are confident he will continue to lead the great tradition we have built here at Albany State University."
Land served as an assistant coach at Albany State dating back to 2002 and was a part of a coaching staff that won six SIAC championships and earned 11 appearances in the NCAA Division II playoffs. He is also a former Albany State running back. Land joined the program in 1983 and was a two-time All-SIAC honoree.
Land was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1987, and also played for the Oakland Raiders and Atlanta Falcons.
