Who to call about high utitlity bills
High utility bills are concerns for a lot of residents in Albany, but the Albany Utility Board wants you to know what your options are as a customer.
Officials say there are several factors that go into a utility bill; most of those are usage rates. They said just because your bill is higher doesn't mean they are charging more; it could be because you are using more.
Carolyn Mathis is a coordinator for the energy task force and said high utility bills have been common this summer because of the extreme heat.
But she said if you think there is a mistake on your bill, just contact them
"We do recommend that if a customer does feel that their bill is incorrect, by all means call us or come in and we will have it re-read," said Mathis.
