Teen wanted for allegedly shooting, killing fellow burglar
MACON, Ga. (WGXA) -- A 16-year-old boy is the suspect wanted in connection to Monday's attempted burglary-turned-homicide.
According to the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, an arrest warrant for felony murder was issued for Aurie Mathis in the death of 41-year-old James Robert Young.
Authorities say Mathis and Young forced their way into a home on Bradstone Circle on Monday when the homeowner caught them.
The homeowner yelled at the suspects and Young dropped a television he was carrying. The sheriff's office said Mathis turned and fired a shot, striking Young in the head.
Young died at the scene.
Mathis is described as a black male, 5'6" in height and weighs 140 pounds.
The sheriff's office said he may be armed with a gun, so do not approach him.
