Flags to be lowered for slain Georgia soldier
Flags will be flown at half staff on government buildings Friday in honor of a Georgia soldier killed serving in Niger.
29-year-old Staff Sergeant Dustin Wright of Lyons was part of a joint U.S. and Nigerien train, advise and assist mission and was killed by hostile gun fire north of the town of Niamey while on reconnaissance patrol October 4.
Wright was a member of the 3rd Special Forces Group from Fort Bragg North Carolina.
Two other Army commandos were killed and two more injured during the incident.
