Kentucky opens State Emergency Operations Center as remnants of Cindy near

Kentucky has activated its State Emergency Operations Center as remnants of Tropical Depression Cindy near.

The storm is expected to hit Kentucky overnight. The SEOC is at a Level 4 activation.

The state is expected to be covered with rainfall throughout Thursday, but another round of heavy rain is expected Thursday night in Friday morning. A third rainfall from remnants of the storm will cross Kentucky Friday, impacting the evening's drive.

Overall rainfall is expected from 2 to 5 inches, with locally higher amounts, SEOC said.

These amounts could cause flash flooding of creeks and rivers to rise. Residents are asked to stay weather-aware throughout the next few days.

Remember -- never drive through high water!
