Kentucky opens State Emergency Operations Center as remnants of Cindy near
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. —
Kentucky has activated its State Emergency Operations Center as remnants of Tropical Depression Cindy near.
The storm is expected to hit Kentucky overnight. The SEOC is at a Level 4 activation.
The state is expected to be covered with rainfall throughout Thursday, but another round of heavy rain is expected Thursday night in Friday morning. A third rainfall from remnants of the storm will cross Kentucky Friday, impacting the evening's drive.
Overall rainfall is expected from 2 to 5 inches, with locally higher amounts, SEOC said.
These amounts could cause flash flooding of creeks and rivers to rise. Residents are asked to stay weather-aware throughout the next few days.
