Young Marines host pancake breakfast

The Young Marines of Albany held a pancake breakfast to raise money and awareness

Albany's Young Marines honored the city's homeless veterans Saturday morning with a pancake breakfast.

It was all part of a nationwide call-to-action campaign, to honor America's Veterans. Applebee's hosted the breakfast fundraiser- each plate cost $7.

Young Marines Commanding Officer Nathaniel Lowman says this is the first time they've hosted this event. "We normally go to the VA Hospital in Dublin and take them baskets. We go down there, help clean, spend time with them and talk with them," says Lowman.

Organizers say they were glad others came out to help them support the veterans.
