Worth County Sheriff faces new charges
Worth County Sheriff Jeff Hobby is now facing new charges in connection to a search at Worth County High School in April.
According to warrants received by WFXL from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Hobby is facing additional charges of obstructing law enforcement officers, violation of oath by public officer and influencing witnesses.
All three charges were being described by GBI Special Agent Cliff Tippens as:
Hobby did commit the offenses when he instructed the employees of the Worth County Sheriff's Office not to discuss the events of the search conducted at the Worth County High School with anyone outside the Worth County Sheriff's Office including the GBI and the Worth County District Attorney's Office with the penalty of termination of employment from the Worth County Sheriff's Office.

Hobby was already facing charges of violation of oath by public officer, false imprisonment, sexual battery and false imprisonment under color of law in connection to the search and was suspended by Governor Nathan Deal as a result.
