Worth County hires law firm as county attorney

After more than a month of not having a county attorney, the Worth County Board of Commissioners voted on Tuesday evening to hire Hall Booth Smith, a law firm based out of Tifton, to represent them.
The law firm will work at an hourly wage of $175 an hour for a senior attorney and $150 an hour for an associate attorney, allowing the board to choose from many different specialized lawyers depending on the board's need that meeting.
"I think this is going to work out really, really good for us because in the past we've had one attorney that's done it all, and now we have a firm that has ample people that can get in and do a lot of different things for us," said Chairman Mike Cosby.
The board plans to meet with the law firm in the next week to begin prioritizing a list of things they need to tackle in order to get the commission back on track.
