Worth County Deputies arrest four on drug related charges

According to, a Worth County Sheriff's Office deputy chased after a vehicle with belief that a wanted man was in a car along with two other passengers Wednesday afternoon.

The driver of the vehicle, 26-year-old Donnie Herndon, led police on a chase and finally stopped, leaving the vehicle and fleeting on foot.

Herndon was captured after the footchase and has been charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, DUI drugs, failure to maintain lane obstruction of an officer, possession of marijuana less than an ounce and suspended license. He was also wanted for probation violation in Moultrie.

Passenger 20-year-old Heather Bates was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine.

One of the passengers, Doug Fender, fled the scene and is still at large. Fender was previously arrested for meth related charges.

Moments later after the chase on Wednesday, deputies were notified of two suspected shoplifters of the Belk store in Albany. The suspects left the store in what was believed to be a rented Kia Forte and drove through Sylvester. WCSO stopped the vehicle for a search.

26-year-old Megan Middleton of Albany was arrested and charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug related objects. 23-year-old Benjamin Becham of Albany was also arrested on the same charges.
