Worth County commission continues budget and economic meetings

The Worth County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday morning to discuss several matters.
Board members heard from Daniel Nesbit with the Worth County Economic Development Authority who brought some disappointing news. The EDA was working with Wal-Mart in hopes of bringing one to the county. Wal-Mart however withdrew their request. Nesbit says this is because they're still deciding how large of a store they want and there is still a big possibility they'll come back and re-negotiate.
The board also discussed a 1.45 millage rate increase which would bring the rate back to 11% which is where it was in 2009. Board members couldn't come to an agreement and the discussion was tabled until the next meeting.
The board is also discussing making improvements to the Sumner Fire Department. They approved a decision to move several employees to that location and a fire engine from the Isabella Fire Department.
