Worth Co. students get special sendoff before Special Olympics
Students in Worth County received a special sendoff Friday morning before heading to their Special Olympic meet.
All Worth County schools lined the streets to say good luck to middle school students aboard the bus, with some of them even making signs with encouraging messages.
Worth County Middle School sent 15 students to the meet at Georgia Southwestern State's campus in Americus.
Principal Tiffany Sevier said it warmed her heart to see their enthusiasm.
"It was a whole district idea, and all the schools, even the board members, came out to support our student-athletes, so it was very emotional to see everybody out and supporting our students," she said.
