A noted member of the Camilla community celebrated her 100th birthday Saturday.
Ruby Sullivan has been an educator for 67 years. To culminate her years of service as an educator she recently funded a scholarship at Valdosta State University. The money would go to candidates from the five counties in the state and the scholar would be able to keep the stipend for two to four years.
The first recipient Vontessa Kendall was there to wish Sullivan a happy birthday and thank her for the opportunity of receiving the scholarship to become a teacher.
Sullivan received a 100 cards for her birthday and said, " It's been abundantly happy with all the children that I've met, they've made my life, and been working with for 67 years in the field of education."
